Ottenstein Stausee (Reservoir) - Mono Challenge
We often drive over this reservoir when we drive to Krems which is a much bigger town than ours about 1 hour away. I have photographed it a few times but only blipped it once. I made a remark to Hubby that I have never seen this fort in the middle of the reservoir on a sunny day. It usually appears as an uninteresting grey blur. Today, however, it was perfect for a mono photo. The water is completely frozen with just a little thaw around the edges to give some interesting textures. The light was lovely this time with some mist still around the island and the sun breaking through behind where we were standing. I have added an extra of the lake from the other side showing some of the lovely textures at the shore.
Our mission in Krems was later completed - our new streamlined, rimless toilet bowl and a light fitting. Should I be excited about this? Definitely.
