Play of Light
One of the best things about mono (IMHO) is that pictures get to be seen and made from the essential elements of shape, texture, highlight, shadow and tone, without the distracting influence of colour. The texture on this lid, the subtle dips and rises of the metal and the myriad tiny shadows caused by the light interacting with the raised printing might easily have been overshadowed and disguised by the beautiful deep blue colour of the lid - if this image had not been black & white.
I wouldn't want anyone to think I was trying to advertise or promote the brand on the lid. So far as I am concerned the raised printing holds no interest other than as something which plays with light. :o)
