Day Three: Lucky Bay, Esperence
Lucky for some, Lucky Bay is the home of these 'beach kangaroo' they live in the surrounding bush land around the Bay., lucky for us today the mother and her Joey decided to hop onto the beach to enjoy a bit of R & R, they are used to people now they allow you to walk straight up to them without twitching an eyebrow.
Glyn climbed Frenchmans Peak, my extra is a view from the top.
The blue skies are back again, beautiful but also very windy.
History;
Whilst exploring the south coast in 1802, Matthew Flinders sailed a dangerous route through the Recherche Archipelago. He named Lucky Bay when his vessel HMS Investigator took shelter here from a summer storm. While here, his botanist Robert Brown explored a diverse and largely unknown flora, discovering and naming many new species.
