Picasso Lino Prints at the Cooper Gallery

It's rather felt like a holiday today.  The morning began cloudy and clear and it all began with a bit of self indulgent image editing (I'm currently trying to whittle down August 2016 and save a backup copy in a more accessible format than is presently the case.)

Then we had a trip into Barnsley as I wanted to but shampoo and conditioner, though our first stop was the Cooper Art Gallery.  Here I'm going to copy what I've written for Facebook, so apologies if you've read it there already:  `A small but significant exhibition in the newly refurbished Cooper Gallery. (They've done an excellent job of revamping the gallery and we came in through the back door from the car-park.)
The lino-cuts are big and bold and once you've seen these you'll never want to mess about with those fiddly little bits of lino again. The prints from the linocuts demonstrate the way reduction lino-rinting works and the excellent video explains the lino cutting process very clearly. I'll be happy to revisit this a number of times. And if you want an excellent place for lunch I can highly recommend the cafe/ restaurant below the Civic Gallery - just around the corner from the Cooper.'

After our delicious lunch we did finally walk down into town to buy shampoo and a few foodie things from M&S.  Maybe we can have another Holiday Monday's next week.
