Over the Rooftops
6.7C with a cloudy dry morning the windy and rainy from lunchtime. E/ESE/SE wind to 38 mph with gusts to 61 mph.
Maeve the Deerhound and I went for a walk before lunch to try to avoid the rain which was due to arrive around 12 noon or 1pm depending on which forecast was going to be right. Podcast of BBC Radio 4's Desert Island Discs (Ian Rankin, author of the Rebus books) on the Clip. We went round to the harbour, had a wander round the old quay, then went along past the ferry terminal to the park. There were more boats in the harbour today and the loch looked quite rough. As we were walking along the far end of the park I noticed a small CalMac ferry coming in through the channel by Davaar island. At the end of the park we came back across to the harbour to find out what ferry it was. MV Lochinvar had by then come alongside the new quay. Online information says that it will be on the Lochaline to Fishnish route in 2017.
The rain arrived just as Maeve and I crossed over from the harbour to make our way home along Longrow.
