Photography fatigue
Back to Granada today, to visit the Alhambra. Even at this time of year it is busy, albeit not as manic as in summer. We have visited before (twice in my case) but the incredible imagination and craftsmanship of the Nasrid palace is still mind-blowing. After a while, photography seems pointless. The whole point is the three-dimensionality, and the changes in light and shade as you move through the palace from rooms lit by filtered light to colonnade to courtyard. None of this can be captured in a photo, although of course everyone including me was trying. I gave up in the end, best to just look. Spare blip (an attempt to capture light and 3D) here.
We spent virtually all the time we had available in the palace. Skipped Carlos Quinto's monstrosity completely, and had a 15-minute whizz round the Generalife garden and palace, before we had to leave to catch the bus back to Vélez. Click right from here to see the five photos that survived my brutal purge of the 130 I took.
