My beloved bike

This is not an uncommon sight: my bike waiting to be carried up the steps at the front of our house and put away in the shed. I love cycling, though I don't usually go very far. It's quicker and more fun to cycle into town, rather than walk, as well as being more environmentally responsible than using a car. My mum was Dutch, so I rode on the back of her bike as a child, before learning to ride my own bike. I have many happy memories of cycling in the Netherlands and more recently, in Wales. Roll on, Springtime, and the sheer delight of cycling in warmer, sunnier weather along the wonderful Mawddach Estuary!
