View from a window
This is the view from my workplace. It is remarkably green.
Greater Manchester's centres of local government are all very different. Salford's is not an architectural gem ((Manchester and Rochdale). It is not massively modernised, inside or out, in whole or part (Wigan, Trafford, Bury, Stockport, Rochdale, Manchester). And it hasn't been built with an integrated public swimming pool. as it's centrepiece (Wigan again - working in a chlorine perfumed environment I can pass on).
But the building feels human in scale, and modest in a pleasing way. And it sits in the greenest environment - well kept wide lawns and specimen trees and bushes. This mono view hides the carpets of yellow crocii starting to emerge, and St Peter's church is hidden from view in part by the trees and bus stop (and by the window frame - I could have composed this better). It comes into its own at night when it is floodlit.
No point in attempting a view from home. For 3 months of the year I leave and return in the dark - another reason I am looking forward to the Spring.
