Nelson's Dockyard
This morning we took a taxi to Nelson's Dockyard, which is a half hour drive away. We'd no sooner sat down for a coffee in the Admiralty Inn when the heavens opened. Fortunately it didn't last long and we set off for a walk up to Berkeley Point where the gunpowder used to be held, well away from the township and where it was quieter whilst the hoards from the cruise ships were around.
There are some seriously expensive ships moored in the Dockyard, but not nearly as expensive as the ones at Falmouth Harbour, just around the bay, where there is tight security.
The two small boats on the left of the picture have just arrived from the UK, having been rowed across the Atlantic. I understand there are more on the way. I wonder how they get them back home.
