Today's effort must be one the dreariest photos I've ever put up!  The weather, after a brief spell of early weak sunshine, returned to leaden skies and ultimately pouring rain.
I tried shots from various windows in our house but none of them were even remotely exciting.  In the end I've chosen a view of our back garden, which looks especially drab at this time of year.  Even the birds must have thought so, as I saw none visiting the birdfeeders at all.

The left hand side of the garden looks especially empty as, one by one our various shrubs have died off during the past year: honeysuckle, lilac and viburnum.  Our tree surgeon feels they may have fallen victim to honey fungus, which will mean no replanting for a long while, other than annuals and less susceptible plants.

I could only upload with the basic uploader this evening.  Has anyone else had that problem?
