Sopwith Camel
On the way down south from Lincolnshire to Barnet/Cockfosters we called at Old Warden, home of The Shuttleworth Collection, a museum we last visited over 40 years ago. It houses old aircraft and, as with this 1918 Sopwith Camel, relatively recently built reproductions, as well as veteran cars, omnibuses and horsedrawn carriages. This was, I think, my most successful photograph aesthetically. But it was great to see versions of the plane Mr PP learned to fly on, the plane his RAF instructor learned to fly on, and the plane Mr PP used to parachute from!
