Kathy the Birthday Girl

There is not much to report from the Dower House today unlike all these years ago on a snowy Friday in Rutherglen near Glasgow when child no 4 announced its likely arrival. In these far off days there were no scans and no knowledge of the baby's sex before the birth.

After spending the day in the old Queen Mother's Hospital, Katherine was delivered at 9:30 pm weighing in at 8lbs8ozs. Although there was a strictly no men beyond the delivery room door embargo then, she didn't have long to wait until her father made it to the hospital to view his latest offspring and be satisfied she had the correct number of toes and digits. Since then she has been able to wrap him right round her little finger, which causes me no end of amusement witnessing it.

Here she is today, taken at Stobo at the end of October, having surprised us spa ladies by flying back to join us from Oman where she is a co presenter of Hi FM , a music programme based in Muscat
