Smelly little urchin
A while ago we found this broken urchin - It contained an Aristotle's Lantern (a conical structure of calcareous plates and muscles supporting the rasping teeth of a sea urchin). An intact lantern is quite a rare find apparently, most having been broken to smithereens. As you can see, the lantern is still lighting the interior quite nicely. It's still a bit smelly so I haven't removed it from the shell yet - I will blip it alone when I do.
I had a quick early shift this morning followed by a day of training. Darkness was falling fast by home time and the weather was vile. I am grateful for another night at home with Gorgeous and a sleep in my own bed.
