Martial arts

Checking out the art school where C and A start tomorrow. It's only five minutes from our rented flat which in turn is only a few yards from a house where Goerges Simenon, author of the Inspector Maigret novels once lived. I confess to not having read any of them. Yet more for my reading list.

The school is located on Outremeuse, the island in the middle of Liege. The site was originally that of an abbey of the Val-des-Ecolier order, dating from 1224. It was transformed into cavalry barracks at the begninning of the 19th Century and served as a US Army hospital for the last six months of the war in Europe.

One of the extras is a Belgian still life (geddit?).
