After much wrangling over planning rights and environmental concerns (i.e. flooding), developers have finally been given the go-ahead for a massive development South of the city limits.

Regarding floods, to be fair, this area is a flood plain. Said developers have been scrabbling around beyond eyesight and behind a very, very long "security" fence.

I thought it my duty to negotiate the fence and wander, in order to bring you an image of the beck running clear along a newly excavated channel and sporting smart new "secure" banking.

Forgive us locals if we don't give the project much credence. And don't say we didn't warn you...
