Eye Test
The blip above is a very brief peek from from a bus returning from today's outing, which was to the Musée des Arts et Metiers in Paris; the name is difficult to translate, but it calls itself a "museum of technological innovation". I was there for an exhibition on the work of Claude Shannon (1916-81), an American widely recognized as the "father of information theory", which sounds dry but it was fascinating--the link provides a more colorful picture of him than even the show. He was a professor at MIT in Cambridge from 1958 to 1978; although he overlapped for with my father there for the first two years, I'm pretty sure they didn't know each other.
