Bye-bye Dolly
Time to say goodbye to one of my dollies. You might guess that I've enhanced the photo a bit, as she was seriously faded.
I won this dolly when I was about 5 years old. It was the only raffle prize I won for many, many years. I'd admired the doll, she'd got a lovely bonnet, she was clean and blue, and her petticoats made the dress into a crinoline looking one. It had been sewn by one of the teachers (Mrs Morgan my mom says) at my infant school. When my name was called out I just could not believe it. Holding my dolly I felt like a princess. Despite this pride in her she never had a name.
Now we are having a tidy up, and she looks too sad to keep. I've still got the doll I've had since I was a baby, and she looks wonderful after she went to the doll hospital and got repaired.
So no tears (at least until the bin is emptied on Monday!)
PS Sorry I could not brush all the dust off her dress.
