Old Groins (sp?)

Old and new groynes on Dymchurch beach.

I am unsure of what wood these are made from, but I do know that the sea wall (prior to concrete) was made from Blackthorn.

Every land owner on Romney Marsh had to grow Blackthorn, and strict penalties were enforced if people cut it down without permission.

I mused over tide tables and the weather forecast before timing our dog walk on the beach.

Their was 50% of rain between 3 and 4 pm, and also a 50% chance between 4 and 5 pm.

I wanted to go between 3 and 5pm, but surely that meant a 100% chance of rain???
