The Farmer of the Wild Adventures

An emergency one, this. The shoulder of Penelope Cruz from a drawing I did of said actress.

Not really much good news these days, huh?

I did read in the fascinating history of Leith's port (Sue Mowat) that the tariff or customs collector of imported goods not belonging to Edinburgh freemen coming into Leith  in the 15th century was known as 'the farmer of wild adventures' . A position that later was more prosaically called the 'collector of shore dues'.

This would seem to be a good name for some of the more histrionic of the 'global Britain' Brexiteers.
