Cut-price colour

A raw day with grey skies and a penetrating easterly breeze, a day when working at the computer actually seemed preferable to a walk! I did get some fresh air walking to the hairdresser, where I spent about an hour in the company of Diana, who's been cutting my hair for years. I persuaded her to try something slightly different and came away with a shorter cut which both she and I were really pleased with. 

As the garden was unrelentingly grim I opted for a photograph of some irises flowering on the kitchen windowsill. We bought them from Waitrose at the weekend, significantly reduced because they'd reached their sell-by date, even though they were still in bud! This is a stack of six images, processed to give a somewhat soft and dreamy effect.
