Big sky, long loch
The head of Loch Striven this afternoon - a favourite view in summer or under blue sky - took on a different aspect under layers of grey. It was, however, dry and not especially windy, and there were herons - two standing in a schoolmasterish fashion at the edge of the loch, and one taking off and flying lazily away in a casual manner that prompted discussion as to quite how such a big bird achieved such an effortless take-off.
A couple of hours away from the horrors of Brexit and the Trump/May axis...
