Manic Mexico
Another relaxing day in Mexico City - NOT!
We had decided to do a guided cycle tour of the city. We have done these tours in other cities, seeing and seen being told about hidden places we would not otherwise have found. This one did not, I'm afraid, live up to expectations. Our guide, Federico, was new to the job and did not really know where he was going, he was also not very good at shepherding the four of us across busy junctions. We were lead in to some scary situations, cycling along pavements full of people! The road surfaces are truly terrible and make the UK seem good!
We hardly stopped at all and seemed to pass lots of interesting buildings. Federico was not keeping an eye to check we were all with him so when my bike chain came off, we lost him for a while. He was a lovely chap though, so John is going to contact the owner of the business pointing out what we had been lead to expect; we won't put a damning review on Trip Advisor. This blip is one of the few cycle paths with the leading lines disappearing off.
We also called in at the Anthropology Museum, which is really good with fantastic architecture. By then I was too tired to really see much so it wasn't long before we headed back to the hotel, surviving the Metro once again. Mexicans here really are the rudest people I have encountered.
We have had an interesting few days here but will be glad to fly out tomorrow for another part of the country.
