The point

Although it feels like hangovers get worse as you get older, they don't. It's just your sense of shame gets worse.

I forget who said that - some smart-arse or other. True, though.

When you're a teenager, he said, going out and getting out of your head is all about behaving like a complete drunken arse. That's the whole point of it. Afterwards, you and your mates revel in just how stupid and crazy you were.

But then you get older. And it doesn't seem like such a funny joke any more.
