Winner!

My photo of Castlerigg Stone Circle ( see blip 14th January ) was chosen last night on TV as the January page for the 2018 BBC Look North Children in Need Weather Calendar!

5000 copies will be printed, and the £12000 profit from the sales of the calendar will go to Children in Need!

The judge was Paul Kingston, a professional press photographer who won 'World Weather photographer of 2016'...His cracking weather photos can be seen in the daily and weekend newspapers. He was full of complements for my picture! He liked the sun shining on the stones, the snow on Blencathra, the wispy cloud, the blue sky and the depth in the photo. I had to wait for about 20 minutes until there were no people about. But it was a fleeting moment, as a minute later the crowds were back.
