Blodeuwedd

A busy morning of council emails and agenda, and then a few hours building this year's web page for Druid Camp. How will I do all this when the Sun is shining?!  Still, we also got a good walk out around the hamlets in the afternoon.

Then this evening a brilliant and interesting lecture at Bristol University by Lloyd and Rose Buck. You may not know the names but if you've watched Attenborough or Springwatch you'll have seen some of their family of imprinted birds - geese, swans, owls, falcons, ravens and starlings.

They explained how some of the TV shots were achieved and how these birds will work for them in the weirdest situations. They also pointed out how even if the shot for today is with geese, almost the whole menagerie of some three dozen assorted birds goes with them on location.

So an unexpectedly entertaining evening, and not often you see a barn owl sweep over a university lecture hall replete with blackboards covered in equations... Check the extras; couldn't decide which to go with, despite the low-light, noisy quality of the photo's.
