Droplets of disappointment

I don't know whether to describe today as the threat or promise of snow but either way it didn't materialise. Just as I was returning from a dog walk a few hailstones fell so I hurriedly grabbed my camera only to have my attempt at those thwarted by a sudden break in the weather leaving only a few droplets of water on the car roof. As it was the best it was going to get, I decided to make do and look for the meniscus on the water thinking it would create some shadows and shapes.
All in all a relaxing day, with darkness now descending and the promise of a cosy night in interspersed with bouts of dog walks and a bouncing puppy.
