FRACTALS AT WORK

Always been fascinated by fractals, the Golden Section, Phi & Fibonacci...

Saw this Romanesco Broccoli (Brassica Oleracea) in the greengrocer's this afternoon & fell in love with its brilliant construction. As you might expect from its form, it doesn't go all flabby like normal broccoli when you put it near boiling water.

Cooked to 'al dente', it was very pleasant, but a bit too sweet for my savoury palette. Gave it a funky mature cheddar sauce with a good splotch of Dijon mustard  + a generous pinch of ground cumin!
