Hey hey, ho ho!
This looks like a candidate for a caption worthy of Marknlizzie or MartinDawe, but in this case truth is more fitting than fiction. The man, who may have been a few sheets to the wind, was chanting into the rainstorm, “Hey hey, ho ho, Donald Trump has got to go!” He was his own one-man demonstration, waving a broken umbrella to underscore the rhythm of his chant. I took the picture from the window of our hotel room.
It’s a monsoon. On Tuesday the coast was lashed by five inches of rain, and it was still pouring on Wednesday when we arrived, so there were towels on the window ledges of the fanciful old hotel. We had excellent books to read, and the hotel is a kind of library anyway. There are overstuffed chairs and couches, windows looking out to sea, blazing fireplaces and plenty of heat, tea bags and hot water 24/7. The lack of wifi and cell phone left us feeling we’d landed in an earlier decade. It was bliss.
