Breakey Blips

Ready for action

It's a little unfortunate, placing red heads in a school house with orange as its colour -even if it is called Mango.
The team building and settling in events are just about over for this term and my big two joined in with the swimming carnival. Neither are very competitive in the pool, but both are willing to help and join in as required.
Accordingly, Miss C found herself as the entry for the butterfly race and I was dubious that she would last the race, for I was trying to explain the arms of the stroke whilst driving to the pool. Funnily enough, I didn't even venture towards the dolphin kick legs.
She came home so chuffed that she had been 4th in a field of 8. It sounds like all the serious swimmers were having a rest!

Mr E loves helping run the day, thus avoiding getting in the pool altogether, if he can help it. This year, though, he had been encouraged to swim a novelty race to make up numbers and again, was delighted to have overtaken two other contenders.
I know it is an unAustralian attitude, but I keep telling them to do their best and take part, otherwise who will the sporty competitive kids have to beat? Consider it charity work of sorts!
