Rose Bay Willowherb on a bed of Heather ...

... looked like a pink painting up on Waldridge Fell this afternoon when the rain stopped. The Fell is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) as it is home to a number of plants and insects that are scarce to rare elsewhere in the county. I didn't know that when I was a child and used to play up here.
My Mum was astonished to see me today as we had not told her I was coming, it was lovely to see her so well for a change. Shame she is not able to come up to The Fell to see these colours.
