Murmurings
The quiet of a very cold, drizzly and dismal evening looking out over the fields was broken in the eerie greyness by the starlings coming home to roost.
It was awe inspiring as they swooped overhead with millions of wings collectively almost humming in unison as they danced then dived to perch on the tree tops above me. Not the best night for seeing a murmuration but still worth watching.
Grateful thanks to JDO for giving the heads up on this call!
