The Megaprocessor

Now residing at the centre of computing history, it was awesome to bow down before the very definition of British eccentricity by one man. A 16 bit processor built at transistor level with 10,500 LEDs for good measure. With 11 transistors per bit the memory is very definitely static! The 256 byte memory bank is the left panel.

Every visit has been different, great to see a lot of resculpting ongoing at the museum as well as lots of kids getting engaged with the computers.

Well worth a visit - www.computinghistory.org.uk and www.megaprocessor.com. Their youtube channel is very good for a social narrative as well.
