An Old Friend

As a kid all we used to see were Peacocks, Red Admirals, Small Tortoiseshells and Cabbage Whites (incorrect name but that's what we called them, and always will!).

Nowadays, apart from the Cabbage Whites (oops said it again), I rarely see the rest. Tortoiseshells have been so very rare recently. It's so sad.

I haven't seen many peacocks over recent years but today and yesterday I saw them in staggering abundance. What happened? I have no idea.
