Downhill
This is the one and only photo my phone would take today before switching itself off. I think it didn't like the cold, as there was plenty of battery life left on it.
Wee B has developed a fear of sledging since last Winter. I think the last time we did it (probably about 12 months ago), she fell off and ended up with freezing cold hands and feet. Anyway, she's seven now and we've been trying to convince her to come sledging with us for the last few days.
Today all my bribery and preparation worked. I made sure she was full of hot milk and Maltesers for energy and warmth, found the best fitting, warmest clothes, boots, socks and gloves and assured her she could come on my sledge with me. This worked and the three of us had a great time. We stopped before everyone got too cold and wet. We're are already wanting to go again next time. Perfect!
You can see how high up we were in this picture. We had to drive quite far South to Soutra to find the perfect, snow covered slope. We startled a hare on the way up the hill, which was a bonus to see leaping away over the snow.
PS looking again at this picture, I think I like it more for its graininess and one quick snap look. It reminds me of pictures from my childhood of sledging with friends and family in the local park. The quality of those ones were very poor, but always make me smile.
