Life in Sunny Dubai

Fresh produce

Today has been quite a draining day! It started in the morning with a big hiccup for something I wanted to do (apply for a Schengen visa). My application all prepared missing one vital document which almost sounded like it wouldn't come. I had to remain very calm and trust that it would all come together in the end. And it did. Just in time. Took all of an hour from parking up to getting back in the car - the fastest time ever to apply for a visa! And I was back in Wafi again to do it, but wasn't allowed to carry a proper camera.

Called in at the local hypermarket to do a much needed shop. G gave a bit of a list so I ended up in the fresh produce section, and these Argentinian figs really caught my eye. They look great! They have tons of food miles on them, but just the fact that they have come from so far away and available less than a hundred metres away from me just fascinates me. They cost a bomb so none came home, but I did send G a picture to see if she wanted a couple. (I didn't hear back in time).

I'm afraid the dreaded sore throat and cough have taken hold. ;(
I guess I had six happy weeks from mid-October to last Tuesday.
