Thames Tideway Turdworks

Thames Water have begun work on installing a temporary public slipway so that they can move the barges and Putney pier. Then they start work to put in the main coffer dam for an extension of the embankment to contain the intercept for the Putney Bridge Combined Sewer Overflow. In a year's time they will start to dig the shaft to connect it to the massive tunnel that will run under the Thames all the way downstream to Beckton sewage works.

Expect at least 4 years of mayhem at various key locations along the Thames while this hugely expensive project is installed. I just hope it is all worth it.
