Snowdrops are pesky subjects...
...to photograph. B and I visited St. Margaret Church at Thorpe Market today to photograph the snowdrops in the churchyard. They are SO difficult to capture successfully, with their bowed heads and tight clumps. Hence the blip today is not a snowdrop (although I have included an image in extras).
Apparently the church was built in 1796, a time when almost no other churches in East Anglia were being built. Most of the interior was fairly plain, but the windows were pretty and so were the wooden screens and the stained glass panel (which came from St Margaret’s Church in Lowestoft). The screen at the opposite end depicts the royal coat of arms of George VI, dated 1796. Both screens were added in the late 19th century.
Having absolutely no feeling in our fingers by the time we had grappled with our tripods, cameras etc. in the churchyard, we were very pleased to visit a branch of Waitrose, just down the road, where we could get a piece of cake and a hot cup of tea.
