Greetings!

A planned weekend break near Peebles. This cheery greeting - Prepare to meet thy God - welcomes visitors to the hotel in which I was staying.

A relic (I hope) from when the hotel was a baronial castle, rather than an indication that guests might check out in a way they hadn't originally envisaged.
