The right moment . . .
For a long while now she has wanted to learn to knit, but I was determined it should be the right time, so she would be successful. Today was the day. Some special wooden needles, nice chunky wool and away we went. I was amazed how she persevered and persevered and by the end of the day (with a bit of help with the odd dropped stitch) had finished a blanket for her doll.
A lovely day that started with Grandad’s band at 8am, finished with card games before bed and included a trip to Sarah Losh’s church at Wreay (which they loved) to study architectural styles – a homework activity focus. This will continue tomorrow.
