Burning

There are 2 fires that have been burning out of control on the christchurch porthills. .many fire crews and personnel have been involved over the last 24 hours trying to get these fires under control.sadly 1 helicopter pilot has died when his chopper crashed while helping to fight the blaze. Last report is that they fires are now under control. At least 1 dwelling was lost as a result of this event. This has been really devastating news for us all. This photo was taken at 8 am this morning. We are hoping that the fires will be contained and extinguished but there is warm weather on the horizon for the next 10 days.
