So after a tolerable night considering, we ate bacon sandwiches and headed off up the M9.
After a coffee, we ignited the pyre of the remains of the steadings and proceeded to add wardrobes, signs etc, As the snow fell, we kept warm with an intense heat.
Then pizza and macaroni cheese, we continued on and added more fuel to the fire, more showers and blue sky. Then the kids got the tractor stuck, Tom arrived across the field with no boots on, so off I went to extricate the tractor from the mire.
Afternoon tea and Tunnock's and a sift through some embaressing photos and pretty cool one too. (See extra; the lady in the bottom left is my Granny, the gentleman escorting her Maj onto the gangplank is my Grandoa; along the balcony above is my elder brother Chris, Maw, me, my Aunt Ali, Uncle Robert and Aunt Ginny. No idea where my old man and Duncan were during this shot. The Queen had lunch on the recently refurbished Maid of the Loch; we plebs had a buffet thing and then as she was leaving , the Queen turned to wave regally at her subjects. My Grandpa said 'there's my grand children up there' and she turned and waved to us. Apparently; I remember nowt of this. 1971 innit)
We headed off late afternoon and were home for lasagne and MOTD which had been rudely interrupted that morning.
We all bathed in spite of the comfort the smell of bonfire brought us all.
