Diary of an Edinburgher

Pittenweem!

The Coastal Path to Pittenweem was conquered today. I won't mention the fact that it's only a mile, but I found it quite tough. It took us an hour and a half. JR and Archie walked back, but I just couldn't manage it - it took three minutes on the bus!

It was a grand walk - we even had a wee bit of sunshine, though that stiff easterly was still there. Archie had a great run around, but I was very glad to arrive at the wee harbour, and even gladder when we found a dog friendly cafe - they all seem to be in this part of the world - with an open fire, sofas, and the best hot chocolates.

I was so glad to get back to Anstruther that I bought an ice cream and sat in the harbour to eat it and I had just slumped on the sofa when JR arrived back!

Pittenweem has a delightful wee harbour, a favourite of ours. Though I was disappointed today that there were vehicles outside the cute harbour houses. The big van belonged to 'James Y J McKay & Sons - Joiners, Plumbers and Funeral Directors'. And the pink house in the corner is For Sale!

A longer part of the Coastal Path will be attempted tomorrow by JR and Archie, but I will be availing myself of public transport.

We're all relaxing now with the new season of a Place to Call Home.
