Billboard

This is a (very) large billboard, commemorating former PM Zanawi. His funeral will be held this weekend. His image can now be seen everywhere in the city, on vehicles, in windows, and on billboards. You can buy wallet sized photos of him from street vendors. I doubt this would be true of the current Canadian PM (hope not, anyway). He will be having a state, but not a military funeral. Life seems unchanged in Addis. There are a few more soldiers around in the main squares, but they seem relaxed and are generally unarmed. Six African leaders will be coming to the funeral - I'm not sure about western leaders. Zanawi seemed to be held in high esteem in the west.
We are leaving for Lake Langano, south of the the city, for the weekend. Perhaps we'll see a bit of wildlife.
