Sweet and confused
Today I arrived at Silverado during a Valentine's day party. Plates and plates of pink-frosted cookies covered the counters at the "bistro" shown above. This photo was taken after we returned from the walk, the place tidied up by this nice caregiver and cleaning person.
In the care plan meeting I had today, I heard from the four staff present that mom is consistently helpful (made someone's bed this morning, dusts, helps clear tables after dinner) and always polite, even when she's asking to be let out.
On our walk she kept asking me how long I'd visit, where I lived, and if I'd like to stay in her house. She said we should have dinner with Aunt Marnie, that Marnie always asks about me. She remembers the facility only vaguely when we return to it after our walk, so I guess that makes our re-entry that much easier. She likes the looks of it, for sure. Today she might have even said, "I should move in here."
But at the same time, she'd completely dismantled her room, including moving a very heavy bedside table close to the door so she could take it with her.
Overall though, it was a good visit, and she seemed pretty happy.
