The Three Towers

This is former Oldmobile's Otto Eckert Power Station situated west side of Lansing. This automobile company, owned by GM, phased out in 2004. It was once one of the biggest automobile brands in the world. 1 out of every 4 people living in Lansing area worked or had relative to work in the factories based in Lansing. Now Lansing still manufacture automobiles, but under the direction of GM coming from Detroit an hour-half away, and only employs a fraction of the number employed years ago. Not only the financial crisis affected the GM, it hits virtually every large cities in the state of Michigan, including Lansing, because their economies also relies largely on automobile manufacturing in their own cities. I'd say Lansing will continue to recede into a sort of a ghost town, with the exception of its importance standing as the state's capital.

In the other news, I felt like I just woke up. It's been a week since I saw an actual sun (sans clouds). This is what this area used to look like (coming from last Monday's blip).
