The Gwydir Forest
Today was forecast very wet so I decided to stay low and under trees as much as possible, walking out from Betws-y-coed to Llanwrist, then up to the St Rhychwyn's Church at Llanrhychwyn - the oldest (12th century) surviving church in Wales, down to Llyn Geirionydd over Mynydd Duelyn and on to Llyn Crafant then south through Tynymynydd to the Afon Llugwy following the river back to Betws. The chapel is wonderful and I really enjoyed the track through the forest over Mynydd Duelyn which had lots of bright yellow slime moulds and more stagshorn fungi than I have ever seen before.
