What they are meant to be like!
My Blipfoto of yesterday showed the first bloom of our dahlias raised from seed.
Today, we see a much more impressive display! This is a cluster of dark-red dahlias that are growing in the University Parks. That isn't where our seeds came from—our seeds were from the local park (Cuttesloe), but they are evidently close relatives. Perhaps these are a little lighter in colour. In fact, it was the beds in the University Parks seen over several years that first started the notion in our minds that we would like some similar plants in our garden.
