Paralympic opening ceremony ... Yawn!
We spent most of the day at the campsite as the weather was terrible, so the thought of going out in the evening to watch the opening ceremony in a 360 degrees auditorium was an exciting one for me, Mo and the kids.
When we got to Weymouth Pavilion they explained that the opening ceremony was being shown on a big screen in the theatre, and there was (and I quote) "Contemporary Art" being shown at the 360 auditorium.
So we decided that we would do a bit of both!! The contemporary art was left to interpretation. Picture the scene.....graffiti everywhere with bits that come alive. Then someone suddenly jumping over a hurdle into water...100 times over. Then they showed a guy in a blocked up window of a castle doing different positions (see blip photo). It was all a bit strange.
The opening ceremony was also disappointing. I can't believe that we stayed watching it until 11pm! The most interesting part was at the end when Team GB came out! The Queen didn't smile, and Boris was the most entertaining of them all!!
