Winter Aconite
On our way home from a walk round, Corstorphine Hill, where whatever views available were shrouded in thin haze, I nipped into the wild bit of the park to check on the progress of the Spring flowers and find a Blip.
And I can report that the patch of Aconites is flowering beautifully, the Snowdrops coming along, though not quite ready but no sign of the Primroses/Primulas. Ramsons is starting to show as a carpet of bright green.
What has increased is the amount of garden waste chucked over folks' back fence, in particular a huge pile of laurel. Of course, most of the delights I have just described are derived from garden waste or escapes, but I would have thought a bonfire would have been a better way to dispose of so much woody material. There were also a few piles of pale feathers, leading one to wonder what birds met their fates and at whose hands/beak/paws.
