Carpet of crocuses

Market day in Oundle and after picking up some beautiful pears and broccoli, fresher and better value than my usual supermarket buys, I cut through St Peter's churchyard on the way back to my car.  This carpet of crocuses stopped me in my tracks. What with skylarks and blackbirds singing now, there is definitely a feeling that spring really is busting out all over. Although we mustn't forget that it can be stopped in its tracks, just as it was a few years ago when there was a cold snap, in March, several feet of snow in some places and farmers were digging out sheep. But let's be positive...
